Arena Season 8 Class Representation Update Pre 3.3.3

I've decided to update the stats because of my boredom and curiosity.  Here we go.

Remember, there are 10 classes in WoW, so I assume that there should be about 10% representation for each class for there to be perfect balance.  I realize that some classes have more players, but when taking the top 100 teams in each division I expect there to be only minor variations in skill level between players.

Largest Mover:
Death Knight, which lost 42% representation from last report.

Most Imbalanced:
Death Knight, which need a 264% boost in representation to be balanced.

Surprising Facts / Observations / Predictions
  • Death Knight, which were already the worst class in Arena in Season 7 became even worse in Season 8 (although they are getting a massive buff in patch 3.3.3, so we'll see how their representation is affected post 3.3.3)
  • Hybrids are doing better than pure classes at the moment
  • Shamans are the best 3v3 class at the moment, congratulations, not sure it that has ever happened before
  • Hunters, which are often highly qq'ed about in forums fail to live up to their high expectations, and are the 2nd worst class overall and tied with mages for 2nd worst in 3v3
  • I expect the following representation shifts a month following 3.3.3:
    • Death Knights will gain quite a bit of representation but will still be the worst class representation wise
    • Warriors will lose a bit of their representation if the Bladestorm nerf sticks with 3.3.3
    • Rogues will gain a bit of representation due directly to Bladestorm nerf and Subtlety buffs (I know a lot of Rogues will not go Subtlety but some will, and Mutilate Rogues are still seeing a slight buff with the Subtlety changes)
    • Hunters will see a slight gain in representation mostly due to Death Knight team synergy (Bladestorm nerf won't affect Hunters much because of the the clunky disarm mechanic of Scorpid Sting / Chimera Shot)
